The community has retained and
expanded upon its role as an agricultural service centre with implement dealers
and agricultural repair, veterinary clinics, soil services, seed cleaning and a grain
terminal. Viterra is a co-operative venture
of Manitoba Pool Elevators, and Pioneer. This is the first and
only joint project between private and public grain companies.
Fertilizer and bulk chemicals, auction services, and Roblin Forest Products also make this one of the largest service centres in the Parkland region. The
"Roblin" wheat variety, developed by Agriculture Canada in Winnipeg,
was named after the community following testing of the variety on farms and test
plots in the local area.
